Burrata Bresaola and Arugula Appetizer #SundaySupper

Burrata Bresaola and Arugula AppetizerHappy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dad’s that love, encourage, inspire and make their children feel like they are true super stars every day of their lives! I am blessed to say that I have two amazing men in my life who have encouraged and helped shape not only my journey but the future of my four children.

When the Sunday Supper Family got together and decided on today’s theme, Man Food, what immediately came to mind was —  steak. After all, Ron could eat a Rib Eye or New York Strip Steak every day of his life and be completely content. But I decided to share a recipe that Ron and I enjoy together, Burrata Bresaola and Arugula Appetizer. At the risk of having my husband sound like a wimp, I am sharing one of his absolute favorite appetizers/salad.

Burrata Bresaola and Arugula AppetizerThe reason I chose this appetizer is that instead of it being a favorite that we came up with and created around the family table at home, it is one that was inspired by our favorite local restaurant. This restaurant is our little get-away that is only five minutes from home, but we love going there together and enjoying this appetizer and a glass of wine. It is our time away from the kids. I honestly feel that it makes us better parents. It is “Our Time.”

Burrata Bresaola and Arugula Appetizer #SundaySupper
  • ¼ pound thinly slice bresaola
  • 2 cups of baby arugula
  • 8 oz. burrata cheese or fresh mozzarella2 tablespoons shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 1 juice from one small lemon
  • 4 Tbsp Great Quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil, divided
  • ¼ tsp. fresh ground pepper
  • ¼ tsp. sea salt - my favorite is truffle sea salt
  1. on a large plate or platter, layer the thin slices of bresaola
  2. place the baby arugula in the middle of the bresaola and add the burrata on top
  3. squeeze the juice of one lemon and drizzle the olive oil over the burrata, arugula and bresaola
  4. sprinkle with fresh ground pepper and truffle sea salt
  5. serve with crusty bread and your favorite wine

Cheers to all the Dad’s who make the lives of children a better place! In honor of all the men in our lives, the Sunday Supper Family along with our host, Susan from The Girl in the Little Red Kitchen, are excited to share some of our favorite “Man Food Recipes.” We hope you enjoy these recipes as much as we have – there has been a lot of laughs behind the scene!

Oh, how I love Burrata! This could become MY favorite appetizer, too…and I know the hubby would not object either. Happy Father’s Day to the dads in your life :)

First of all, what a wonderful theme for Father’s Day with so many outstanding recipes shared among friends! Thank you for your visit, it means so much to me! Lastly, I have simply fallen in love with bresaola after my 2 weeks in Italy in May. Where in the world do I find it in the States? What a delicious appetizer recipe that I have saved to prepare when I can get my hands on this delicious meat!

That’s it, you’ve done it!! I surrender and have to get burrata now. There is only one place in town that I know has it and it is from Italy and is $25 a ball, I have hummed and hawed over it but now I must try it!! Thanks for the inspiration!!

Burrata is one of those best kept secret foods that knocks people out of their chairs when they try it. I remember my first bite into that creamy, gooey blob of cheese. Yes, blob is how I describe it lol. But a delicious blob at that. This appetizer sounds perfect!

Man food? Oh no! This is Renee food. Absolutely positively Renee food. I’ll take a plate and a glass of wine please and thank you.

Such a great appetizer… classic Italian deliciousness! I wish I could get some good burrata around here, but that’s not going to happen any time soon. :-( Have a great Sunday!

Isabel, tell Ron there’s nothing wimpy about this appetizer. It’s absolutely delicious! Not only would the Husband devour that, I’d be fighting with him for the last bite. I hope you and your family had a wonderful time celebrating Father’s Day yesterday!
