Warm Steak Tomato and Mozzarella Salad #SundaySupper

  • 2 cups of grape tomatoes
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary, chopped or ¼ teaspoon of dried rosemary
  • 4 small boneless sirloin steaks (approximately ½ inch thick)
  • fresh ground sea salt and pepper
  • 1 mozzarella cheese ball, 8 ounces
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  1. Preheat oven to 325ยบ
  2. Slice the grape tomatoes in half.
  3. Mix with olive oil in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the garlic and rosemary and stir until well combined.
  5. Layer the tomatoes on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes until the tomatoes are slightly blistered and golden.
  6. Season the sirloin steaks with sea salt and pepper. Give it a generous coating of sea salt. These steaks can handle it.
  7. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan, add the steaks and cook for two minutes on each side, until a nice crust forms or cooked to your liking.
  8. Remove from the pan and set aside to rest.
  9. Slice the mozzarella into thin slices and layer on a platter.
  10. Slice the sirloin steak and place on top of the mozzarella.
  11. Remove the tomatoes from the oven and pour them over the steak and mozzarella.
  12. Add the butter to the skillet the sirloin steak was cooked and cook on high for approximately 2 to 3 minutes while stirring with a whisk.
  13. When the butter starts to brown, remove immediately and pour over the steak tomato and mozzarella.
  14. Serve warm with some crusty bread or small potato rolls to make sliders.
