This recipe is super easy to make. Since it is shredded pork, you don't even have to sear the meat before placing it in the slow cooker. Yes, that easy!
  • 4 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 3 teaspoons garlic powder
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 5 pounds pork shoulder/pork butt
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  1. In a small bowl mix together the paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Stir in the brown sugar.
  3. Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker.
  4. Pour half the spice mixture over top, then flip the pork pieces over and pour the rest of the spice mixture on the bottom half.
  5. Pour the barbecue sauce over the top of the pork.
  6. Cook on low for 10 hours.(I usually do this overnight)
  7. Remove pork pieces from the slow cooker and shred, removing any fatty pieces.
  8. Serve as sandwiches with a salad on the side if desired.
