Sunday Supper Hey there!  Are you ready for the Holidays?  Are you traveling or staying Home for the Holidays?  The last couple of years I have really simplified our Holidays.  It has become much more about enjoying each other.  At our home, Christmas Dinner is just a more elaborate Sunday Supper Around the Family Table.

Yesterday, we let my two younger ones skip school and the six of us headed to Busch Gardens for the day.  It was the perfect Florida day and we had a blast.  The park wasn’t busy at all so we got to ride first row on every roller coaster.  Can I just tell you that I close my eyes on roller coasters – so what difference does it make?  But truly it was all about the memories that were made.  The kids loved getting off the roller coaster and looking for my picture.  All you could see was the top of my head because my head was down and my eyes were closed so tight.

We had so much fun walking through Busch Gardens, that was beautifully decorated and checking out all the animals.  You don’t even want to know what the kangaroos were up to.  All I can tell you is we laughed until we cried.  Literally.

To me, that is was Christmas is all about – the freedom to be a kid again, the giggles and the uncontrollable laughs.

There is no better gift than spending time with family and friends and making memories.

This week’s Sunday Supper Event is all about family, heritage and traditions.    What are you family traditions?  Come share them with us this week during our #SundaySupper chat at 7 pm Eastern Time.  Our host, Beate from Galactopdx is excited bring you Home for the Holidays with these fabulous recipes:

Thanks for following This Life Abundant on Twitter! Christmas is the same at our house. We have everything from chicken enchiladas to burgers on the grill for the meal. It’s about the table + family time. Total joy.

Looks like joy is the centerpiece of your holidays, Isabel. Why not let the kids skip a day of school and revel in the spirit of the season? Allowing for adventures in food and in life adds that extra sparkle and zest. Thank you for the reminder and inspiration=)
