Moist Pumpkin Bread

Moist Pumpkin Bread Recipe by Reis

It’s that time of the year where Orange is in the air.   Every year we carve our pumpkins and wonder what to do with the inside.  This year, Reis found a recipe and surprised the family by making Moist Pumpkin Bread.  Like his mom, Reis has a hard time following recipes so of course he had to adapt it.   This pumpkin bread was not only moist, it was heavy and oh so good!

This week our host is Pam from The Meltaways and Pam loves October and all things Orange!   She challenged the Sunday Supper Team to share their favorite Orange Recipe.  Who knew there could be so many amazing orange recipes.  Leave it to the Sunday Supper Team to come up with so many delicious Orange options.   Can you believe we had close to 60 recipes submitted for this week’s #SundaySupper Event?  Pam’s love for spending time Around the Family Table is evident in her posts on her site.

Join us for Orange Autumn Recipes this week  and share your favorite #SundaySupper with us during our chat at 7pm eastern time.  There’s always room for one more Around the Family Table.

Moist Pumpkin Bread
Recipe type: Breads
Cuisine: Autumn Recipes
Prep time:
Cook time:
Total time:
This Moist Pumpkin Bread is perfect with a cup of coffee or for dessert.
  • 3 ½ C. flour
  • 3 C. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 2 C. pureed pumkin or canned pumpkin
  • ⅔ C. water
  • 1 C. canola oil
  1. Shift together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices into a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs, pumpkin, water, and oil. Mix together until the batter is well blended.
  2. Pour the batter into two greased and floured loaf pans.
  3. Bake at 325 degrees for about one hour. Test with a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread. If the toothpick does not come out clean, bake at five minute intervals until done.
  4. Remove the pumpkin breads from the baking pans while still warm.

Recipe adapted from Food Network Recipe. We did not use nutmeg or cloves in this recipe because we wanted to make it kid friendly and it sure was.

Isabel, your pumpkin bread indeed looks incredibly moist. I am so impressed that your young son made this – it looks fabulous. Pumpkin is my favourite fall flavour so I can’t wait to try this recipe. The kid ratings at the end of your post is super adorable.
