At our home, The Big Game is almost a national holiday. I can honestly say that I don’t remember ever missing this event and my boys look forward to it almost as much as Christmas.  On those years that our favorite team is in the game– forget about it!

They will admit that not only are they excited about the game, but the game day menu is pretty high on their list! All the rules are broken at our house when it comes to Game Day– we don’t worry about a balanced meal and we don’t worry about sitting around the family table in the kitchen. The family room takes center stage and we enjoy Sunday Supper around the family coffee table.

Part of the fun is coming up with great recipes for us to share with our family and friends. There is one item that has been on our Game Day Menu for as long as I can remember. It is truly our family’s Signature Game Day Dish — Pepperoni Pizza Dip.  So easy to make, so fun to share and so delicious!

Every great recipe needs to be paired with a great wine. I was thrilled when Gallo Family Vineyards  recently sent me their Red Moscato to try. It was the perfect pairings for this cheesy and slightly spicy Pepperoni Pizza Dip. I loved it because it’s not too sweet and it’s not to tangy. It is light, a tad fruity and so refreshing. It’s great for an afternoon get-together with friends because it pairs well with appetizers like this Pepperoni Pizza Dip, but it also pairs nicely with lighter options like fruit and salads.

This year, we will be serving Gallo Family Vineyards Red Moscato at our Super Bowl Party. If you are looking for more great Game Day Pairings, you can Gallo Family Vineyards website or connect with via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or YouTube for great suggestions. I can only imagine what fun is happening at your home on the big game day. You are such a football family and, of course, foodie family so awesome eats are in order. This dip sure does look like it would be one of those awesome eats for sure.

Marjory @ Dinner-Mom January 26, 2014 at 7:59 am

The dip looks fantastic and I bet it is perfect with the Red Moscato! My juices are flowing on this one with all the other pizza toppings you could use too!

Katie January 26, 2014 at 8:07 am

Oh boy…that dip looks seriously amazing, and the perfect indulgence for game day!!!

Alice // Hip Foodie Mom January 26, 2014 at 8:50 am

Isabel, I think if I were holding the bowl, I might eat the whole thing! The cream cheese is like total decadence!!! love this!

Liz January 26, 2014 at 8:55 am

Oh, my gosh…I seriously need to find an excuse to make this ASAP! What a glorious dip!!!

Dorothy at Shockingly Delicious January 26, 2014 at 9:13 am

But…but…but…pizza IS A balanced meal, no?
This dip has protein, vegetables and carbs. What else do we need? Oh yes, a glass of wine, and you have that, too!

Shannon @VillageGirlBlog January 26, 2014 at 9:51 am

You mean The Big Game isn’t a national holiday? lol. Seriously though, my boys would love this dip. I can not wait to make it for them! Yum

Amy Kim January 26, 2014 at 10:05 am

I’d like to come over your place for THE GAME! This dip sounds perfect! It would not last long around me!

Brianne @ Cupcakes & Kale Chips January 26, 2014 at 10:59 am

With the big game coming up, I’ve been seeing different versions of Pizza Dip, and I think it is about time I have it in my life!

Susan January 26, 2014 at 11:13 am

DB-The Foodie Stuntman @ Crazy Foodie Stunts January 26, 2014 at 12:28 pm

Hmmm…I could imagine to serve this with pita bread to dip. Very creative idea!

The Wimpy Vegetarian January 26, 2014 at 12:52 pm

Oh my gosh, this looks absolutely fantastic. I’m going to have to make this for my family. My husband and stepson would just LOVE it!!!!

Julie January 26, 2014 at 1:09 pm

Love the idea of a pizza dip. Think of all the possibilities for flavor variations + dippers!

FamilyFoodie January 26, 2014 at 2:13 pm

I agree Julie. I am dying to try some new combinations.

Constance @FoodieArmyWife January 26, 2014 at 1:28 pm

I love, love, love pizza dip!!! Great addition to our virtual football spread today! :D

Carla January 26, 2014 at 3:23 pm

Dinner table, coffee table. As long as there’s family and a table, right? Oh and this dip of course!

Lori @ Foxes Love Lemons January 26, 2014 at 4:58 pm

Haha, “we don’t worry about a balanced meal.” The perfect way to describe what happens in almost everybody’s home on game day! But I mean, in this recipe, you have a bit of meat, some dairy, and even some vegetables ;) This looks sooooo good. And balanced. hehe.

Shaina January 26, 2014 at 5:06 pm

Game Day is all about indulgence! That’s what makes it so fun…and it isn’t every day, so it’s totally ok :)

Alida January 26, 2014 at 5:06 pm

Isabel, this dip is absolutely drool-worthy! The Red Moscato is a tasty pairing with this, and I suspect Gallo’s Merlot would be really good with this too!

Delaware Girl Eats January 26, 2014 at 5:15 pm

I love pepperoni any way and this looks like something to warm the stomach on our cold mid-winter days

Alex January 26, 2014 at 6:01 pm

Your dip is ultra-tempting! (90% of the times I ask / make pizza with pepperoni: yum)

Maureen | Orgasmic Chef January 27, 2014 at 1:35 am

I think I’d love to be at your house on game day!

FamilyFoodie January 28, 2014 at 8:38 pm

Come on over Maureen, it would be our pleasure to have you around the family table.

Stacy January 27, 2014 at 2:33 pm

It doesn’t get better than ooey gooey pizza dip, Isabel, and yours looks perfect! I’ll have a glass of the red moscato too, please, if you don’t mind.

Sarah | Curious Cuisiniere January 27, 2014 at 5:12 pm

I bet this makes the house smell SO good while it’s baking!
