Tomato and Mozzarella Easy AppetizerNothing says summer get togethers with family and friends like Tomatoes!  The only thing that could make summer juicy tomatoes better is pairing them with fresh Mozzarella and drizzling them with balsamic vinegar dressing.  I have made this Tomato and Mozzarella Easy Appetizer so many times that I could make it with my eyes closed.  It is my go to summer recipe and the one that is requested over and over by friends and family.

Everyone asks me, “what is your secret?”  Why does it taste so good?  Why does it taste different than typical Caprese Salad. The secret is in the dressing I love Good Season’s Italian All Natural Dressing.  The kind that you mix at home with Balsamic Vinegar, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and Lime Juice.   Yes, the lime juice is a little added secret that will add a nice zip to this recipe. I use the Cruet Kit that comes with the dressing, follow the exact measurements and substitute fresh lime juice for the water.

There is one more little secret that makes this Tomato and Mozzarella Easy Appetizer so good. I don’t use basil… *gasp* … I know everyone loves basil, but have you tried green onions instead with Tomato and Mozzarella?  Try it, between the lime and the tangy onions, this Tomato and Mozzarella Easy Appetizer will be a favorite with your family and friends.

The best part, you can make it ahead of time and add the dressing at the last minute.  Get togethers are all about enjoying our time Around the Family Table!

This wouldn’t be an apetizer for me – nope, a main course! I love fresh mozz and tomatoes! What a perfect summer dish!

These are ridiculously beautiful. I want to walk away with this whole platter and eat it whole. They look so good and perfect for our #SundaySupper. Isabel please invite me to dinner so I can eat some ;) Don’t worry, I’ll even be good and share ;)

What a lovely appetizer. Thanks for sharing the tip about using fresh lime juice. I will try that next time I make balsamic vinaigrette. Oh, and my husband does not like basil so this recipe is great for him.

Oh, boy, this is my kind of food! I could eat a huge plate of this for my dinner! I will pick up some Good Seasons packets next time i’m at the market! Perfect for Sunday Supper AND for #tomato love. Thanks for linking up, Isabel!

Ahhh, this recipe is my type of heaven – I pretty much live off of tomato, fresh mozz and basil all summer long. Thanks for sharing your “secret” dressing :)

Beautifully arranged dish! The lime juice secret is a must try! And I totally agree with the chives. Have a great week Isabel!

perfect summer dish, I would eat this everyday for lunch and never get bored!

Karen Hartzell (@InTheKitchenKP) July 1, 2012 at 12:16 pm

One of my favorites! I actually use a basil flavored dipping oil for my drizzle. Now I want to eat this for lunch today and I don’t have any fresh mozz! Bummer! But it will be going on my grocery list for the week thanks to you, Isabel! Yum!

Such a simple appetizer and yet the presentation makes it look like you spend a lot of time on it. Love it!

juanitascocina July 1, 2012 at 2:25 pm

All summer long, I eat caprese. I am totally making your version. Don’t tell anyone, but it sounds better than mine!

Bren (@BG_garden) July 1, 2012 at 3:44 pm

Isabel, this salad looks amazing. This is one of my favorite salads, and I could eat it everyday for as long as tomatoes are in season. Happy #SundaySupper, my friend.

Lane R (@supperforasteal) July 3, 2012 at 6:06 pm

This sounds great! I will have to give your dressing a try. I love making a simple caprese salad for a side dish with dinner. Next time I will try your way :)

Katherine Martinelli July 4, 2012 at 2:32 pm

That’s too funny – that is my husband’s all time favorite dressing!! We have boxes and boxes of it. The lime juice is a great idea. And I’ll have to try chives instead of basil! Gorgeous. Thanks so much for another great #SundaySupper :-)
